Thoughts on Oscars 2010

Let me just say, before I commence this entry, I would like to say that yesterday I felt like I won an Oscar with what I accomplished. I had set out a goal to complete a 182-page "novelization" of my movie script (which would translate to about a three-hour "epic") before the Oscars. Literally, within minutes of the pre-show starting, I finished! hehe I was soo proud of myself - I still am.

Okay, now my thoughts on the OscarsCollapse )

I handcrafted this piece about a week ago. I burnt, painted and sealed everything on this piece. I am extremely proud of it because I drew most of Marilyn's face freehand - I didn't even know I could draw freehand! I thought I would have to trace everything from graphite paper onto the wood. lol XD I hope it goes to a good home and to someone who appreciates it. :)

. . .More Pictures. . .Collapse )

Your result for The Fan Fiction Personality Test...

The Mindgamer

Everything is possible, nothing is ever really over.

Fanfiction is a creative outlet for you. You don't intentionally write it, it just happens. You find inspiration in several fandoms, but are not obsessed with only one.

You like to explore "what if" situations. What if this character had never made this very choice? What if this event had taken place sooner, never, elsewhere? What if these people had never met?

You are likely to write Alternative Universes, fan seasons or sequels and just follow your (sometimes pretty strange) plot bunnies.

What one film do you think everyone should see?

It's not a film everyone likes, but if you open all of your sense up to it, "The Fountain" is an amazing film that will change your life.

And I know it says only one film, but I also think everyone should see "Inglourious Basterds" and "Milk."

It's been such a long time since I made icons! Spurred by my upcoming 2009 picspams that I will spam all of your f-lists with, I decided to make icons out of one of my new crushes, Carla Gugino.

I didn't realize she was in so many films I've seen before - "Michael," "Sin City" and "Spy Kids"! XD She is delicious.

    1. What is your happiest memory?
I think it was between the ages of 5 and 8 when I spent my summers with my grandmother. Every evening we would have dinner, eat junk food and stay up late watching old films. Klondikes and summer breezes still keep those memories fresh in my mind.

    2. What is the most important life lesson you've learned?
One of the lessons I've learned is everyone is born with something (a gift, a talent, a strength) which is meant to help other people and protect ourselves from the evils of the world.

    3. What is the most difficult decision you've had to make?
Deciding to wait a year to go to school. I'll be twenty-two years old when I go to college next year (I kind of feel old going to school so late XD) but it was a decision that had to be made because of the economy and the financial crunch my family found ourselves in.

It was a difficult decision that seemed like the Kiss of Death at the time, but since I'm going to wait a year, I've already set wheels in motion for things to happen. I've always believed that there's both a good side and a bad side to every decision. The positive to this decision is that I will be getting a job/growing my own "boutique" business and possibly moving out to be closer to school - I'll feel like an adult and not a person who graduated from home-schooling a few years ago and now is going to be in school again. I won't feel like an "eternal student."

    4. What is the best thing about your life?
I didn't realize it until my best friend told me once that with everything that has happened to me (which I don't dwell on often because I'm a person that keeps moving forward), I should be a statistic or a stereotype, but I'm not.

I am a very lucky person.

    5. What is the biggest challenging you're facing right now?
I have a few challenges going on right now - I'm going to get my driver's license in January and over this next year, I want to earn some income through my writing either by publishing a book (either traditional or online) or by writing from multiple "small" places with submissions. I'm also trying to get a job/grow my own "boutique" business *cough* which is currently swelldameink @ Ebay and swelldameinc @ Etsy *cough*.

    BOOKCASE1, originally uploaded by SwellxDame.

Just as I promised, this is a picture of my bookcase where I put my Tippi Hedren autograph on display. And on the bookcase, in the rectangular display case next to my baby pictures, is Mary Pickford's perfume bottle I received on this past birthday (my 21st).

The other stuff on my bookcase is my Phantom of the Opera perfume bottle XD. The two paintings I bought at Spooky Empire, altoid boxes, candy cigarettes and my jewelry boxes.
